Spear top pickets are the backbone of a classic steel security fence, and the 2100mm length is one of the most popular sizes for front fences, pool-style infill and security panels. Until now, the $5.00 price was reserved for orders of 600 pieces or more. Now it's everyone's price, whether you need ten pickets for a repair or a full stillage for a new build.
Why choose the Press Formed Spear 25x25
This is a 25x25mm square steel picket with a press-formed, crimped spear top, made from Grade 275 pre-galvanised steel. The spear is formed from the picket itself, so there's no separate finial to weld on or knock off, and you get a clean, finished look straight off the bundle. The pre-gal coating gives long-term corrosion resistance outdoors, and with minor to no residual oil, the pickets are easier to handle and need less prep before painting or powder coating.
It suits fabricators, fencing contractors and DIYers building spear top fences, security fence panels, steel gates and boundary fencing. Weld the pickets to punched or flat rails, finish them in your chosen colour and you have a strong, traditional spear fence that deters climbing.

What does pre-galvanised Grade 275 mean?
The steel is galvanised before it's formed, giving it a zinc coating for corrosion protection. Grade 275 refers to zinc per/sqm
Can I paint or powder coat these pickets?
Yes. With minor to no residual oil, they need less cleaning before painting or powder coating than standard oiled pickets.
Should I choose 1.2mm or 2.0mm?
1.2mm suits most residential spear fences and panels. Choose 2.0mm for higher security, commercial sites or gates that take more knocks.
What length spear picket do I need?
Allow for your finished fence height plus any length set into the ground or below the bottom rail. If you need a size we don't stock, ask us about custom cut lengths.
